Plain & Simple Investing ("we", "us") runs plainandsimpleinvesting.com, a free educational website about long-term, low-cost investing. We keep things simple here too: we don't sell your personal information, we don't require an account, and we collect as little as we can. This page explains what information is collected when you visit and what choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply to you.
  • Usage information. Like most websites, our hosting servers automatically log basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working.
  • Calculators. The calculators on our site run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to us or stored.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which guides are most popular, so we can improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as pages visited, time on page, approximate location (city or region level), and device and browser type. We do not use this to identify you personally.

Embedded videos

Some pages include videos embedded from YouTube. When you load or play an embedded video, YouTube (owned by Google) may set cookies and collect information according to the Google Privacy Policy.

If you buy through one of these links we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects what we recommend; we only point to resources we genuinely believe are useful.
